About Acmispon parviflorus (Benth.) D.D.Sokoloff
Acmispon parviflorus, also known by the synonym Lotus micranthus, is a species of legume. Its common name is desert deervetch. It is native to western North America, ranging from British Columbia to southern California, and grows in many different habitat types across this region. It is an annual herb that can range from hairy to completely hairless, with stems lined with leaves that are each composed of small, oval leaflets. Solitary flowers grow from the leaf axils. Each flower is a short-lived pinkish bloom shaped like a pea, less than one centimeter long. The fruit produced is a narrow, hairless legume pod with wavy edges, reaching up to about 2.5 centimeters in length.
