About Acleris curvalana (Kearfott, 1907)
Acleris curvalana, commonly known as the blueberry leaftier moth, is a moth species that belongs to the Tortricidae family. It is native to North America, with confirmed records from the following regions: Alabama, Alberta, Arkansas, British Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Manitoba, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New York, Newfoundland, North Carolina, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia. The wingspan of this species measures approximately 14 mm. Its forewings are a pale lemon yellow base color overlaid with bright ochreous red; the base of each wing is yellow, along with a narrow yellow margin running along the termen. A round, yellowish spot is located in the center of the wing. Adult moths have been recorded in flight from March through August. The larvae of Acleris curvalana feed on the following plant taxa: Vaccinium angustifolium, Vaccinium pallidum, Gaylussacia baccata, and species within the Quercus and Rosa genera.
