Aciphylla scott-thomsonii Cockayne & Allan is a herbaceous plant that forms large tussocks. These tussocks can reach or exceed 3 meters (9.8 feet) in height, and the plant's leaves grow up to 1.5 meters (4 feet 11 inches) long. It produces yellow flowers. This species is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand, where it most commonly grows in subalpine or subarctic areas.
