Acanthoscurria paulensis is a tarantula species native to the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Mato Grosso. When kept in captivity, this species prefers an environment with a temperature between 72–82 °F (22–28 °C) and a humidity level between 65–75%. Adult females of the species can reach a size of 5–6 inches (130–150 mm), and females grow faster than males. This tarantula species is aggressive toward its prey, and individuals often burrow.
