Acada biseriatus is a hesperiid butterfly native to southern and eastern Africa whose larvae feed on Brachystegia trees.

About Acada biseriatus (Mabille, 1893)

Acada biseriatus, commonly called the axehead skipper or axehead orange, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. This species is found in Zimbabwe, in areas ranging from Mozambique to Kenya, and in Zaire. It was recently discovered in the eastern region of the Soutpansberg, located in Limpopo Province, South Africa. Males have a wingspan of 25–30 mm, while females have a wingspan of 25–35 mm. Adult butterflies can be seen on wing throughout the year, with a population peak occurring in late summer and autumn in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In South Africa, this species has only been recorded in December. The larvae of Acada biseriatus feed on plants from the Brachystegia genus, including Brachystegia spiciformis.
