About Abirus fortuneii (Baly, 1861)
Abirus fortuneii (Baly, 1861) is a subcylindrical leaf beetle that measures 7.5–9.5 millimetres (0.30–0.37 inches) in length. Its overall body color is variable, and can be metallic green, cupreous (reddish-brown), violet, or purplish. Its antennae are blackish brown, with the basal segments colored fulvous, which is a tawny or brownish-orange shade. Its dorsal surface is covered in fine setae. Both the pronotum and elytra are covered in large punctures; the elytra also have a wrinkled texture, with wrinkles oriented transversely.
